Maureen's Biography

Maureen O’Brien is a public and media relations professional working with individuals, organizations and small businesses. She has been involved in the film and television industry for the past ten years in both Vancouver and Los Angeles and is experienced in sales and marketing, making the perfect combination for a public relations specialist.

Maureen’s media experience began while working with one of Canada’s largest insurance claim companies in Public Relations and Event Marketing. Her participation in nationally recognized events such as The Air Canada Championship Golf Tournament, professional sporting events involving the Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Grizzlies and BC Lions football team allowed her to gain a credible and broad reputation. From there, Maureen went on to work with Vancouver Lifestyles Magazine and national publications such as Good Life Connoisseur and Living Green. Her focus at these magazines was assisting clients with their marketing and strategic needs in order to gain global recognition, in addition to helping to coordinate special events and promotions; which of course came naturally.

At the same time, Maureen’s daughter began her acting career, thus making Maureen a full time marketing professional and very busy “mom-ager”. Understanding the acting business from the inside out has enabled her to recognize the necessity of tactile and calculated publicity, the importance of promotion, and the strategy of the timing in relation to such exposure. This valuable understanding is what makes Maureen more than just a publicist, but a person who can distinguish the care and attention that performers in the entertainment industry require.
